BUILDING AND RESTORATION
We're based in...     FREETOWN,
                                   SIERRA LEONE.
CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY AND SCHOOL.
August, 1999

Dear Sir/Madam,

Fund Raising Project - Holy Trinity Church Freetown

You may be aware that The Holy Trinity Church, Kissy Road in Freetown was completely burnt down when rebel forces invaded Freetown in January in 1999.

A committee known as "Holy Trinity Church Building Restoration Committee" has been formed in Freetown to undertake the important task of rebuilding the church.  Efforts are now being made to raise funds to carry out this work, and the committee has appointed us, the signatories of this letter as "coordinators" to appeal to Sierra Leoneans and well wishers in the United Kingdom and the rest of Europe for financial help towards this project.

An account has been opened at a Barclays Bank branch in London into which all donations are to be paid.

Please make cheques or postal orders (crossed) payable to:

It is wonderful that our Church indeed has been reconstructed, rededicated, and brought into full use.  You should see it; it is really the talk of the town.  But there are still plenty of work to be done to embellish God's house.

The organ for example is still to be acquired and the cost for that is forty-two thousand pounds (£42,000).  We have paid ten percent of that and we are trying to find the balance.  That's where you all come in.

We are appealing to all the folks especially in the Diaspora to make a little contribution from time to time and I am sure we can quickly reach that goal.

There was a time when some people doubted we could rebuild the church, but God has once more worked wonders and will continue to do so in Jesus' name.

Dear Friends:

CHURCH OF THE HOLY TRINITY
PIPE ORGAN APPEAL

I write to seek your assistance in soliciting funds from well meaning people especially Trinitonians abroad (UK/US) to help us get the balance of monies due to Jardine, the people we are getting our organ through.

Someone located the organ in Wimbledon at a church which was being pulled down.  The cost is £42,000 (forty-two thousand pounds).  That is actually the cost of dismantling, packing, spares, shipping and setup in Freetown.  It was a give away if you like.  We were told that a new organ of that type would have cost some three hundred thousand pounds.

We have raised some £25,000 (twenty-five thousand pounds) and so we are looking to raise a further £17,000 (seventeen thousand pounds) to complete the transaction.

If you think you can assist in any way whatsoever please let me know.
